J. Crew has an utterly simple and classic leather ballet flat, made in Italy even, for only $110! These actually remind me of my little pink ballet slippers from when I took ballet (very briefly) as a kid. (except these are black, but they also come in a very neutral "tawny sand" that is close to a traditional ballet slipper in color)
