I was wandering around Bloomingdale's on Saturday... one of my favorite passtimes. It makes a perfect afteroon activity to walk down 3rd Ave. and window shop along the way down to Bloomingdale's. (Gracious Home, Sephora, Banana, Club Monaco, L'Occitiane, True Religion, etc. etc.)

At Bloomingdale's I saw these gorgeous shoes at the Louis Vuitton boutique...

Slingback in Monogram Idylle Canvas, $675

They look incredibly well made. I wanted to try them on but I thought better of it, a bit dangerous perhaps.  Also, there wasn't a salesperson in site.  Oddly, the shoe area there never seems to be staffed, as if they don't expect anyone to actually want to buy shoes.  Their shoes are very expensive, and frankly often quite ugly. A basic ballerina flat was $535, so that makes these seem to be a relatively good value...

At the Chanel counter I picked up one of their last bottles in stock of the Particuliere nail polish. Apparently they had just got the shipment in and it was already nearly sold out! I also got two colors of the new Rouge Coco lipstick. The colors were very nice and the formula is great, I got Muse and Perle.

Oh, I also finally tried the 40 Carrots frozen yogurt. I ordered a "small" and was given a quite huge serving, it cost $4.90.  I don't know who could eat that much, I ate about half of it.  I got the Caribbean Coffee flavor.  It was quite good!

You can now design your own personalized Keepall, Pegase or Speedy with the new Mon Mongram feature at Louis Vuitton online.

There are several different colors of stripes and you can add your initials. (The concept is very similar to what Longchamp has been doing for a while with their Le Pliage bags - Le Pliage Sur Mesure.  I wrote about those a while ago.)

Here's what I came up with:

LV-mono-speedy.jpgThe premium for the personalization is $280!  Yikes, a bit steep!  (the regular Speedy 30 is $690)

Vuitton has always been very collaborative with artists and designers from Sprouse to Murakami, to Peter Marino for the massive interiors of the New York 57th Street store...

Their new book, Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture, explores 80 of their collaborations in a beautiful edition designed by Murakami. It features a special cover, jacket and plexiglass slipcase silkscreened in the Damier pattern.  Published by Rizzoli.  $130.

If you had any hopes of getting anything from Vuitton's Rose collection (inspired by the late Stephen Sprouse), you'd better hurry.  The scarf that Lindsay and Kate have been wearing around town is sold out.

There's one for sale on ebay right now that seems genuine, but it's min. bid is 999 GBP, which is over $1,600!

Vuitton still has in stock the Neverfull bag and the Speedy bag with the roses.

Neverfull MM Bag, $1,360

LV has released a new bag design: the Galliera city bag.Lv_galliera

It comes in 2 sizes, the GM ($1360) and the PM ($1180). I like the shape and the big size. You can buy them at eluxury.

Louis Vuitton's Spring 2008 collections are out.  They're featuring some spring-y colors and designs.

Freesia Platform Sandal $740.  I love the wood heel and platform! I love walking on shoes like this, I even like the "clomp, clomp, clomp" noise they make when you walk on a hard floor, and how you feel sort of like a geisha. (does anyone else know what I mean?)

Monogram Inclusion Ring $215.  I don't usually like pink at all, but this would be fun to wear and would be okay to add a little color to an outfit.Lv_ring

Cadenas Key Holder $325. I just love this keychain... a bit pricey, but it's so cute with the lock and key and convenient with a clasp and a key ring.Lv_keychain

Last, the Monogram Tisse Beach Towel. $425 Other than Hermes, this has got to be the ultimate beach towel! An homage to the classic LV trunk.Lv_beachtowel
